What's An Amendment?

Who are you?

• You are a politician.

• Research and advocate for one of the three following amendments: 13th, 14th, and 15th.

What is happening?

• The South is being rebuilt, but the nation is still in turmoil.

• Many plantation owners in the deep south still have slaves, and equal opportunities have yet to be established.

These amendments are known as the Reconstruction Amendments designed to bring equity to all.

After researching the amendments:

• Compare and contrast the overall structure and concepts of the amendments.

• Using the structure you identified, propose an amendment that meets the needs of citizens in modern-day society.
